Privacy Policy

CTF Events is built to be privacy‑friendly. We don’t require accounts, and we keep data collection to the minimum necessary to provide the app and support optional ads.

What we collect

  • App usage (on‑device): Basic interactions used to render features like bookmarks and reminders. This data stays on your device.
  • Event data: We fetch public event information from third‑party sources such as CTFtime API. We don’t track which specific events you view.
  • Advertising identifiers: If you use the free version, the ad network may access an advertising identifier (e.g., AAID/IDFA) to display and measure ads. You can remove ads with a one‑time premium purchase.

How we use data

  • Provide core features: Search, filters, bookmarks, reminders, and calendar integration.
  • Show optional ads: In the free version, we show minimal ads. Ads can be removed permanently with a one‑time premium purchase.

Third‑party services

  • CTFtime: Event listings and details come from the public CTFtime API. See their policy and terms on their website.
  • Ad network: The free version may use a mobile ad SDK (e.g., Google AdMob) to deliver ads and measure performance. The ad provider may process device and advertising identifiers per their policies. Upgrading to premium disables ads and associated ad SDK requests.
  • App stores: Purchases and billing are handled by Google Play and the App Store. We never receive your full payment details.

Purchases

Premium is a one‑time purchase to remove ads. Transactions are processed by your platform’s store and tied to your store account for restore eligibility.

Notifications and calendar

  • Notifications: If you enable reminders, the app schedules device notifications. You can change this anytime in system settings.
  • Calendar: When you add an event to your calendar, the details you approve are saved in your device calendar app.

Data retention

Most app data (like bookmarks) is stored locally on your device. We don’t maintain personal user profiles or cloud accounts.

Your choices

  • Use the premium option to remove ads.
  • Adjust notification permissions in your device settings.
  • Clear the app’s local data via your device settings if you want to reset.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we’ll address it.

Changes

We may update this policy as features evolve. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, when appropriate, highlight changes in‑app.
